What interests Daniel?
Chapter | SiteDaniel cares about many things, but some more than others; the structure of danyell.com reflects these preferences. At the top of my interests list:
- Music – not as entertainment, but as a force for learning, healing and change;
- Government and Public Policy, most especially aspects of government and policy that occur outside of the spheres of influence of established governments and corporate structures, that is to say, in the real daily fabric of the real lives of real people;
- Alternative organizational models, mainly for business management but also for community management and governance – lately I've been particularly interested in variants of the Guild model as a promising "third way" apart from Corporations and Labor Unions;
- All forms of Language be they human or cybernetic;
- The now-raging battle over Intellectual Property, from patent applications for the human genome, to the endless extension of copyright lifespans, to the conflict between established Licensors and peer-to-peer file-sharing;
- The art and science of designing Sustainable Systems – whether they be made of computer software, and/or buildings, and/or consumed resources and waste, and/or human beings;
- Education – once again (are you sensing a theme here?) not in its traditional institutional forms but as an activity that can and should permeate our public and private lives, at parity with breathing, eating, sleeping, friendships and the like.
I've probably missed a few things that fascinate me in the foregoing list. I will revise and amend as additional fascinations occur to me.
Who is Daniel?
Chapter | SiteDaniel (spelled that way, but pronounced Dah-Gnyell for historical reasons) is a human being.

danyell.com Privacy Policy
Policy | Present | SiteThis site is a personal part of my life, like my diary or my bedroom. Like those things, it is also (full of) my personal property. It is, in effect, my home on the Internet.
The main and first purpose of this Privacy Policy is to protect my privacy. Its second purpose is to protect the privacy of the site's registered members, so long as that second purpose does not conflict with the first.
